Moving –February 5, 2014

Two weeks ago we were told that we would be moving on February 1st.  We laughed – “yah right, it will never be ready by then!”  It was a huge space filled with shelves, a concrete floor and not much else.  They didn’t make the 1st – it actually was on the 3rd which was pretty amazing.  They had to put in some late nights to get us in, but they did it.

And so we had to box up our “stuff” and they moved it over.  We were amazed how much “stuff” we actually had.  So we left behind our little office in the Institute, our Institute mates the Petersons, the kids, and our organized little life – and moved into a lovely, large, new space.  We don’t have all of our furniture yet, and the move caused our computers to develop a severe case of amnesia, but we are in and functioning.

It was hard to leave the noise and fun of the Institute and move into the quiet space we now have, but give us time and we hope to liven things up.  Teaching old dogs new tricks is always hard and this move will require these old dogs to learn some new ones, but we will do it.

The saddest part for me was when one young man came over and wanted to know “who’s going to put up the thought of the week?”  My favorite job!  Going to have to figure out a way to continue that.

So….onward and upward we go!
